- generation of electric and magnetic fields and their application in electrical machinery
- operating principles, characteristics and design of transformers, electric motors and generators
- synchronizing and connecting generators to a ship's electric network

Evaluation

Students can
- use professional vocabulary systematically
- use the key models, methods, software and techniques of the professional field
- promote teams’ goal-oriented operation
- justify their actions according to the ethical principles of the professional field

In addition, competence evaluation according to STCW code table A-III/1 column 4 are used:
- operations are planned and carried out in accordance with operating manuals, established rules and procedures to ensure safety of operations
- electrical, electronic and control systems can be understood and explained with drawings/instructions
