Completing approved on-board training (STCW III/4) for rating forming part of an engineering watch.

Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- engine room watchkeeping procedures
- safe execution of common maintenance, engine repair, and installation tasks on a ship
- correct and safe use of machines and tools

Content

Supervised on-board training in competences specified in STCW A-II/4 documented in a training record book.

Assessment is based on tasks completed on a training ship and documented in the training record book.
