Objective

You can take into account and support clients' participation and agency in physiotherapy processes.
You can assess reliably and in a versatile way the functional and mobility capabilities of clients taking into account individuals' resources and operational strategies.
You can plan and guide therapeutic exercises supporting individuals' motor learning and taking into account the special features of central and peripheral nervous system disorders as well as the individual resources and operational strategies.
You are able to apply the most influential methods of neurological physiotherapy, taking into account individuals' resources and the living environment.

Content

How do you take into account and support clients' participation and agency in physiotherapy processes?
How do you choose, justify, and use different assessment methods for functional ability to take into account individual resources, operational strategies, and supporting clients' participation in physiotherapy processes?
How do you design and guide progressive, task-oriented training for neurological rehabilitation, taking into account the special features of central and peripheral nervous system disorders, the individual resources, operational strategies,and habitat?

Qualifications

Attending the course requires that the learning outcomes of the first and second academic year studies have been achieved.

Materials

The course can be integrated with the courses of Clinical practice III, IV or V.

Evaluation

Students can
a. use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations.
b. evaluate information sources critically.
c. work as team members in working life expert duties and identify and describe the problems of the professional field.
d. evaluate operations in client, user and target group situations.
e. choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices.
f. promote teams’ goal-oriented operation.
g. apply critically the ethical principles of the professional field in different situations.
