Learning the practical skills and completing approved simulator training based on prior STCW code table A-II/2 studies.

Content

Supervised simulator exercises based on prior studies in the following subject areas:
- plan voyages and conduct navigation
- pilot boarding, MRM and leadership skills
- ship handling; berthing and unberthing
- ship towing operations
- respond to navigational emergencies
- search and rescue operations
- competence test

Qualifications

Prior studies:
- MRM
- Voyage planning and meteorology
- Search and rescue
- Ship handling 2
- Operation of ship machinery
- Emergency procedures 2
- Leadership skills
- Simulator training at the management level 1 or deck officer’s certificate of competency (STCW A-II/1)
