Objective

Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- supervised simulator training procedures
- basic use of a navigational simulator and radar

Content

Studies and supervised simulator exercises in the following subject areas:
- supervised simulator training in a navigational simulator
- basic use of bridge equipment and systems
- basic use of radar

Materials

- Terrestrial navigation 1
- Navigation equipment
- Approved training during studies

Further information

Participation in all lessons and training sessions is obligatory.

Accomplishment methods

Students can
- use professional vocabulary systematically
- identify interrelated tasks
- use the key models, methods, software and techniques of the professional field
- work as team members in a goal-oriented way

In addition, STCW code table A-II/1 column 4 criteria for evaluating competence as specified in complementary studies are used in assessment.
