Objective

You have skills to support and promote the independence and inclusion of disabled youth, adults and aging people in multi professional client work. You are able to specify and analyse disability as a cultural and historic phenomenon. You are able to analyse the position of disabled people in the Finnish society and service system. You know the main laws and other norms regulating the work among persons with disabilities. 

Content

How disability can be defined as a historic and cultural concept? How the rights of disabled are fulfilled and how they are being promoted in the Finnish society and service system? How do you support disabled peoples’ ability to function in their youth, as an adult and while aging? How the work with disabled is regulated by law? 

Qualifications

Knowledge base and work orientation module.  Special education.

Assessment criteria, good (3)
