Objective

You can describe the construction of child and family work and you recognize the needs for preventive work. You know the meaning and content of preventive family work. You are familiar with the diversity of families, the challenges of parenthood and welfare of the families. You are able to promote the welfare and participation of a child, young people and family. You understand the principles of multiprofessional network-based work and you are able to apply them in your client work. You know the meaning of counselling and you can guide and counsel families in family services. You can describe and apply in your professional work the principles of child and family work and you can recognize the needs for changes and development.

Content

What is the content of child and family policy, principles and legislation in relation to family services? What are the constructions of child and family work and the meaning of preventive child and family work? What is the meaning of the diversity of families and what are the challenges of parenthood nowadays? From which different parts consists the welfare of the children, youth and families? What means the participation of children and families and how does it actualize in my own client work? How do the rights of children and ethical principles guide my work? In what way are preventive work and early support recognized in my work? In what way are multiprofessional work and counselling recognized in my work orientation? In what way is orientation to develop and affect recognized in my work?
