Objective

The student should be able to use the basic and manual functions of a digital camera for the purposes of general photography. The student will be able to explain the fundamentals of photographic theory and how to set the camera in different situations.  

Content

How to handle a camera and the use of manual settings to improve photographic technique. Exploring various settings to create different visual effects such as depth of field, exposure length, flash techniques, multiple exposures, etc. Using the digital darkroom (Photoshop) to enhance and manipulate images

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Pass/Fail. Examination relating to theory. 60% course work, 40% examination. All assignments must be completed to pass the course, and students need to achieve a minimum of 60% in the theoretical exam to pass the course.
