Osaamistavoitteet

In this course you enhance the knowledge and develop the skills in analyzing risks and hazards to human health and ecosystems structure or functioning. You get familiar with the most important risk factors caused by accidental emissions and other environmental impacts. You master how to assess them, how to act in an environmental accident and to prepare for them before-hand. You have knowledge how health and safety is ensured in working environment. You get the knowledge of risk estimation process and management tools. You get familiar with the ecological and health risk assessment process.

When the risk assessment is needed? What means the hazard identification, exposure and effects estimation, characterization of risk? What are the risk management tools? What are the occupational health and safety risks and legislation? How to use the threshold limit values? What is the risk communication? How to apply mathematical methods and models in environmental risk assessment?
