Osaamistavoitteet

You know how modelling is used in analysing environmental data. What areas can be modelled and which models are available and customarily used? You have used in practice some environmental models, and can appreciate their benefits compared to plain analytical data. You know the requirements model have on data aquisition and sensors used. You know about necessary data preprocessing technologies.

- From data to models, how are models built. - Examples of environmental models in analysing waterways, soil properties and distribution of air impurities - Hands-on use of several environmental models to analyse real environmental data for problem solving The course contains 2 ect of integrated mathematical studies

Edeltävä osaaminen

Any previous experiences on modelling either from use or coding perspectice is positive but not compulsory.

You use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations. You work as team members in working life expert duties and identify and describe the problems of the professional field. You can choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices.
