Content
Students are selected for the sparring process on the basis of a personal interview and their entrepreneurship idea portfolio. Teams are formed of like-minded themes (for example, games and new media, innovative ways to utilise wood, clothing, technology and logistics, and tourism). The team may be supplemented by support for students or business know-how acquired from other educational institutions. For example, second level future entrepreneur students may participate in team activities and have these accredited in their studies. The team operates independently and flexibly in line with their studies. The team has a student leader. The team can be formed into a co-operative during the study. Team members may carry out their own business development projects, such as product development, design manufacture, marketing, trade fairs, etc. In addition, team members read the company's literature regarding business operations, product development and marketing, and refer these to the team members. There is participation in seminars, trade fairs and business visits. Teams are guided by teacher coaches and business mentors. Guiding teachers and business mentors are trained in providing guidance. Sparring activities prepare students to move to incubator environments organised by local government or development companies. Student graduates of an incubator environment will start their business operations and the enterprise may, for example, utilise rented space and machinery belonging to the University.
