Objective
-To be able to encounter the client/family/community member as an expert in their own life
-To be able to utilise the client’s experiential information in the client’s treatment
-To be able to assess the client’s basic care needs using clinical and physiological assessment/measuring methods, to prioritise the care needs that are identified and to structurally document them with unified classifications
-To be able to respond to the need for care by using nursing methods, and to be able to structurally document the treatment with unified classifications
-To understand the concept of evidence-based practice and the s significance of EBP in social and health care
Content
The client as the expert in their own life:
-the special characteristics of the client relationship in health care
-the individual, the family and the community as the clientthe significance
-the client gives to their experiencesthe effect of the client’s life history, lifestyle and life situation on the treatment
-the client’s personal, context-related and health factorsthe concepts of client and patient
Nursing operations:
-Nursing methods
-National documentation (e.g. FinCC)
Evidence-based practice in social and health care
-The concept of EBP (including the generation, distribution, implementation and assessment of evidence) and the objectives of EBP
