Objective

After the successful completion of the course the student knows how to identify most common natural textile fibers has an expanded knowledge of organic materials and how to identifiy wood species knows how to prepare wood samples for microscopy knows how to use stereo and light microscopes in material research knows the basics of microscopic photography and can produce documentation material from samples knows how to apply knowledge from this and earlier chemistry courses in his/her seminar and degree work

Natural fibers in theory, identification of natural fibers in laboratory with reference samples, fiber analysis, advanced essay on natural fibers, identification of wood species in theory, analyzing reference wood samples, sampling of objects in seminar work and analysis of samples in laboratory.
