Objective

You can recognize and evaluate health, welfare and related factors at individual and community levels.
You understand the customer’s rights and participation as a user and developer in health services pathways.
You know how to plan, implement and evaluate the promoting interventions of health and functioning at individual, group and community level by using a multi-professional network.
You are aware of the social decision-making and structures, as well as the connection of a customer's health-related behavior with the welfare and health of the entire population.
You are aware of the most common public health problems and the measures for narrowing health inequalities.
You know the criteria of the health-promoting nutrition.
You know and understand the meaning of sexuality for the wellbeing of humans in different ages.

Content

How are social services and health care organized in Finland?
Which recommendations and norms direct and frame your work with promotion of health and wellbeing?
Which factors have an effect on health and welfare of the population?
How do you identify needs for changes related to health and welfare, define the objectives and agree with the client/patient on the means to achieve the objectives?
How do you promote health and well-being and prevent exclusion?
How do you proceed according to the principles of sustainable development?
How do you guide the customer based on nutrition?
How do you guide the customer with respect to sexuality?
