Objective

After completion of the course, the student is able to: explain and use many basic concepts of construction engineering describe a process or a product related to construction engineering by speaking in such a way that the content and delivery are adapted to their language skills and the expectations and the language skills of the target group write a text on a topic related to construction engineering on the basis of Finnish source information  while writing for professional purposes, make stylistical choices between various grammatical and lexical items write an abstract for their bachelor's thesis following the guidelines of Kymenlaakson ammattikorkeakoulu negotiate on various topics related to a construction project recognise various factors affecting intercultural communication

various subfields of construction engineering parts of a building, tools and machinery, construction materials, concepts of structural engineering interactive presentation of a process or a product at a trade fair characteristics of a technical and scientific written style, cohesion of the text, data commentary, abstract guidelies of KyAMK negotiations and informal meetings features of intecultural communication handling complaints
