Objective

Physics: Students understand the practical importance of the principles of physics as addressed in the course and are able to form and solve essential equations with physical quantities apply their knowledge of physics to practical technological problems and in later professional studies use their knowleledge to follow the development of their own professional fields use their knowledge in the developmet of new applications In laboratory exercises students learn to use common instruments, analyse quantitative information and to conduct quantitative and qualitative estimations of observational errors. Chemistry: The student deepens their knowledge in chemistry of their professional field.

Content

Physics: Fluid flow, measurement of basic electrical quantities, and methods of non destructive testing. Chemistry: Organic chemistry and polymer chemistry. Polymers: their properties and use in boat technology and boat manufacturing. Properties and compatibilities of resins, adhesives, and coatings. Learning to use and apply necessary occupational safety information available in chemical data sheets.
