Objective

You get competences to observe and evaluate the needs of an individual child and child groups.
You are able to support the participation of a child in the early years as well as the community-based work culture in day care.
Based on the basic principles of early childhood education, you can plan, actualize and evaluate the activities based on the needs of individual children and child group and that are goal-oriented and pedagogically justified.
You are able to examine early and special support and implement methods of early support.
You are able to examine educational principles of alternative pedagogics in early childhood education.
You are able to carry out the principles of educational partnership when working with families.

How do you realize observation as a work method?
What kind of methods are those promoting child’s participation in early childhood education?
How do you respond to children’s needs in early childhood pedagogy?
What are the methods of early and special support in early childhood education?
What are alternative pedagogies in early childhood education and what kind of pedagogical ideas do they present?
What are the principles of implementation methods of educational partnership?

Evaluation

a. You use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations.
b. You evaluate information sources critically.
c. You work as a team member in working life expert duties and identify and describe the problems of the professional field.
d. You evaluate operations in customer, user and target group situations.
e. You choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices.
g. You apply critically the ethical principles of the professional field in different situations.
