Objective

Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- making connections and installations of conventional marine electrical equipment and appliances in a safe manner and in compliance with regulations
- identifying basic electrical components, methods of electrical installation and safe working procedures
- presenting the results of laboratory work in writing and drawing conclusions from them

Content

- usage and coupling of measuring devices
- safe working practices, connections and joints, inspection of one's own work, occupational safety
- reporting of measurement results
(STCW A-III / 1 and A-III / 2)

Evaluation

Students can
- evaluate information sources critically
- choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices
- promote teams’ goal-oriented operation

In addition, competence evaluation according to STCW code table A-III/2 column 4 are used:
- maintenance activities are correctly planned in accordance with technical, legislative, safety and procedural specifications
- inspection, testing and troubleshooting of equipment are appropriate
