Objective

You have sufficient knowledge and skills to provide evidence based care to patients with common diseases of internal medicine You know the principles of radiological protection You can apply medication safely and alleviate pain comprehensively You can monitor the patient and respond appropriately to patients’ needs in changing situations You know how to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing You have the knowledge and skills to guide and educate patients according to their health needs and resources You know how to apply patients’ nutrition and guide them in dietary needs You have the ability to support patients and their families in palliative care process and in end of life You know how to report and document the nursing process using the Finnish classifications (FINCC, ISBAR)

Content

What are the most common diseases of internal medicine and medical treatment for them? What is radiological protection in health care? How do you apply safe medication and comprehensive alleviation of pain? What are the patient observation methods in Nursing? How can you evaluate the effectiveness of nursing? What are the methods of guidance and health education in medical nursing? How do you apply patient nutrition and guide patients in their dietary needs? What are the principles and procedures of palliative and end of life care? How do you report and make patient history documents using the Finnish classifications?

Qualifications

Courses of anatomy and physiology, basics of nursing and pharmacological treatment approved
