Orthotic Therapy in PodiatryLaajuus (10 cr)

Objective

You know the basics of Rheumatoid diseases, othopedics and physiatry  and integrate your knowledge to the practice. You will assess the need of orhotic therapy of the client, design and manufacture  orthoses and educate client to use them and assess the usefullness of the orthoses together with the client. You use safty technics in the manufacturing process of the orthoshes and insoles.  You will promote occupational health in orthotic manufacturing process. You will anlayse the services of the orthotic lab in clinical practice. You are able to make the foot examination for orthoses, manufacture the orthoses and to describe the different stages. You will assess the different kind of protocols and insights of manaufacturing isoles and orthoses.

Content

Rheumatoid Diseases, Orhopedics, Physiatry integrated to orthotic practice. Training in Elixiiri orthotic lab and/or in the orhtotic lab in working life. Process of orthotics Biomechanical examination used in orthotic therapy process Individuality and customer orientation in orthotic therapy; individual insoles manufacturing and exercises based on customer needs.  

Qualifications

Biomechanics 5 cr, Biomechanical Examination 5 cr
