Clinical PracticeLaajuus (15 cr)

Objective

You will collect experiences in clinical practice in methods and podiatric clinical practices in the care of foot ulcers. You will orientate to podiatry in special groups, practice ja follow up the results, too. You will assess and describe the description processes for acquiring special footwear, insoles and orthesis and shoes for wound care (therapeutic footwear) and for off-loading and practice counselling. (You will describe and analyse the isole and orthoses manufacturing methods in orthotic therapy lab if you are training there).  

Content

Three 5 creditscombinations in health care organizations (focus in clinical fields). 1. Central Hospital in Podiatrist's practice or in an equivalent 2. In Podiatrist´s practice in rural hospital, health care center or in private entreprise 3. Alternatively in the third practice the above-mentioned places or in protehtics unit, e.g. in Respecta Diabetic foot ulceration - care and off-loading Special footwear, podiary in special groups, therapeutic footwear, ortosis, walking devices (total contact cast) and prosthesis   

Qualifications

Basic skills practice  15 cr in Elixiiri, Clinical podiatry in Elixiiri
