Objective
Knowledge of different emergency situations, emergency exits and fundamentals of rescue, use of lifeboats and life rafts and their equipment, ship's fire-fighting organisation, main factors leading to fire or explosion, fire-fighting equipment, extinguishing substancies and how to use them.The student acquires medical skills in accordance with the ILO recommendations and STCW convention.
Content
Basic training course, rescue, fire-fighting, first aid; and the following practical courses: Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (STCW A-VI/2-1), Personal Survival Techniques (STCW A-VI/1-1), Basic Training in Fire-Fighting (STCW A-VI/1-2). Anatomy and physiology, regulations concerning medical care in the maritime framework, aseptics, and first aid onboard.
