Objective
This course is a part of the Profiling Competence in Nursing module. After completing the course Nursing English 2: - you can communicate in different nursing situations in spoken and written English - you can seek and use evidence-based English materials in nursing work - you can assess your own learning and language skills in relation to the goals you set at the beginning of your studies, and can set developmental goals to maintain your language skills.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Student - can communicate orally and in writing in an understandable fashion in simple, routine nursing work situations. - can use the basic vocabulary of nursing work and, with the help of tools, understands the main points of nursing work articles. - with assistance, can seek and use evidence-based English materials in nursing work. - can assess their own skills and set development targets
Assessment criteria, good (3)
- communicates clearly in various nursing work situations orally and in writing e.g. interviews, reporting, advice and guidance - has control over the key vocabulary and concepts of nursing work and understands the main points of nursing work articles and publications - can seek and use evidence-based English materials in nursing work. - can assess and justify their own skills and set development targets

The student - communicates skilfully and appropriately in various demanding and unexpected nursing work situations - both orally and in writing (e.g. Interviews, reporting, advice and guidance) - has control of the vocabulary and concepts of wide-ranged and demanding nursing work - can independently seek and apply evidence-based English-language nursing work material - in developing their own work. - can assess their own competence in different language skill areas and set development targets
