Objective

Client orientation
• you value the patient’s/family or community member’s expertise concerning their own life
• you are able to utilize the clients’ experiential knowledge in the care of their health and treatment of illness

Clinical nursing
• you are able to use various methods in the psychosocial support of a patient
• you are able to respond to the need of care by using proper nursing methods and document them applying structurally coherent classification
• you are able to evaluate the patient’s need of care based on appropriate clinical and physiological assessment, prioritize the needs, and document them in compliance with structurally coherent classification
• you understand the principles of and are able to explain the significance of infection control
• you are able to administer and evaluate safe pharmacological treatment
• you are able to assess the need for emergency care

• concepts of client and patient
• special features of client status in health care
• individual, family, and community as client
• significance of the client’ own interpretation of their experience
• influence of the client’s history, habits and overall life situation on the care
• the client’s personal, situational, and health related factors

Clinical nursing
• social support of a patient
• psycho-social methods
• nursing interventions (e.g. FinCC) and national standardized electronic nursing documentation
• national and international recommendations and guidelines in the treatment of various disease groups
• infection prevention
• aseptic technique
• microbiology
• pharmagological treatment
• pharmacology and pharmacy
• basic life support

Qualifications

All courses in the module are recommended to be attended during the same period of time.
