Objective
You gain basic knowledge about environmental measuring and monitoring methods You use suitable measurement and monitoring techniques. You know how to participate in the construction of an environmental monitoring program.You have gained practical experiences in the use of environmental monitoring methods
Content
Lectures and demonstrations on principles and alternatives of environmental monitoring. Principal techniques of waterways, air quality, emissions, soil and groundwater monitoring. using chemical physical and biological methods are discussed as well as the ecological condition and methods of remote sensing. What measuring instruments are used in measuring environmental data and data in the processing technology field.
Teaching methods
Scheduled track:
You will learn the reasons for monitoring the environment and what are the key methods for analyzing the environment. You know how samples are correctly drawn, how they should they be handled and
how sampling regimes should be planned. Further How you learn how digital data is retrieved from various sources and its validity verified. You also gain hands on experience on retrieving and analysing environmental data from example databases.
