Objective

You can make use of the languages you know and the Finnish-speaking environment in your Finnish language studies.

You can use a variety of phrases, structures, recitals and vocabulary at level A2.2.

You know the main grammatical phenomena.

You can increase your vocabulary and language knowledge also independently with the help of different sources.

You are familiar with Finnish culture.

You can use ICT ethically in your studies.

You know the basic vocabulary of your profession.

You are familiar with different grammatical phenomena.

You can follow a wide range of conversations, write different texts using models and use language spontaneously in familiar everyday and professional situations.

How does Finnish compare to other languages you know?

What are the characteristics of the Finnish language?

How is Finnish pronounced and written?

How do you introduce yourself and deal with people in everyday situations?

How do you make use of the Finnish-speaking environment to learn the language?

What kind of vocabulary, phrases and structures do you need in everyday situations and in understanding and producing texts on different topics?

What kind of knowledge of the language and culture do you need for your language studies?

What kind of sources and tools can you use in your Finnish language studies during the course and independently?

How can you use technology and tools in your language studies in an ethical way?

How do you set yourself goals in Finnish language learning and how do you reflect on your learning?

Accomplishment methods

The Finnish 4 course is placed at the beginning of the competence phase. Criteria a-d, f and g are the main criteria for the assessment of the course.

At level 3, students will be able to

a) use Finnish A2 level phrases, vocabulary and structures in everyday and professional communication

b) search for information to support language learning

c) perform fluently the tasks of the course

d) communicate in simple everyday situations and use the Finnish environment to support their learning

f) manage a team

g) use information technology ethically to support language learning.
