Objective

You can communicate in Finnish in everyday and work-related situations, both orally and in writing.

You can take part in conversations, write texts related to everyday life and work, and use the language spontaneously.

You are familiar with Finnish communication and working life culture.

You have a command of different phrases and structures and a vocabulary of different subjects at B1.1 level.

You can increase your vocabulary, phrases and language knowledge both independently and with the support of your environment.

How do you prepare for job interviews and communication situations in working life?

How do you communicate in Finnish in common work situations?

How can you use different interaction situations to support your learning?

How do you use your knowledge of culture and working life in communication situations?

What kind of phrases and what kind of vocabulary and grammar do you need in different everyday and professional communication situations?

How can you make ethical use of different sources, technologies and tools in your grammar studies?

How do you set yourself goals in Finnish language learning and how do you reflect on your learning?

Accomplishment methods

The Finnish 5 course uses the initial assessment criteria. Criteria a to d and f to g are used for the assessment of the course. At level 3, students will be able to

a. use concepts in his/her field and the structures and vocabulary of Finnish language level B1 in an appropriate way

b. search for information appropriately and make use of Finnish-language environments and various materials and aids in language learning

c. perform the course tasks fluently

d. to function in Finnish in work and everyday situations, recognising situational differences in language use.
