Objective

After this course, the student will have basic knowledge of legistation and decrees concerning transportation of hazardous substances, understand classification, packaging, and handling of dangerous goods as well as their transportation in different modes of transport

Content

Classification on hazardous substances and planning of their transportation.Road transportation of hazardous substances: VAK/ADR regulations. Railroad transportation: RID regulations. Sea transportion: IMDG Code, bulk codes from IMO, MARPOL Convention. Air transportation: ICAO-TI regulations/IATA Codes.Packages, markings, free limits, prohibitions of combined loading, transport equipment, safety instructions and limitation of liability.Nomination of safety advisor.Conversance with various guidebooks and information retrieval through practical examples.
