Objective
You know how to design digital archives and preservation processes. You are able to identify challenges of preserving of different kinds of data. You are familiar with different kinds of regulations concerning digital preservation and common quality requirements of different types of data. You learn about technologies used in digital preservation.
Content
What kind of factors have to be considered when designing digital preservation? Which regulations, standards and recommendations affect digital archiving? Which are the quality criteria for digitizing and the challenges in digital preservation?
Evaluation
Students can
b) solve demanding problems in research, development and innovation activities.
d) be responsible for digital archiving operations and develop them independently.
e) evaluate different strategic approaches and justify their use from the viewpoint of management and development.
f) work independently in the expert duties of their professional field or as entrepreneurs.

Opiskelumateriaali ilmoitetaan opintojakson alussa.
Study forms and methods
Mikäli opiskelijalla on osaamista opintojakson aihepiiristä, voi opintojakson suorittaa näytöllä. Myös aikaisempien, tavoitteiltaan samanlaisten opintojen hyväksiluku on mahdollista. Näistä on sovittava tapauskohtaisesti viimeistään opintojakson alkaessa.
Student workload
Opiskelijan työmäärä on 135h, josta kontaktiopetusta ja siihen valmistautumista on noin 12h, ja itsenäistä opiskelua 122h.
Further information
Opintojakso toteutetaan monimuoto-opintoina. Opintojaksoon kuuluu kontaktiopetuspäivät, joka järjestetään pe 15.1.2021 klo 17- noin 20.30 sekä la 16.1.2021 klo 9-15. Kontaktiopetukseen on mahdollista osallistua etäyhteyden kautta.
