Objective

You can plan, implement and evaluate the follow-up of growth and development of schoolchildren and young people in cooperation with the clients.

You can support schoolchildren and young people in making health promoting choices.

You are able to encourage families in parenting and promotion of healthy lifestyle.

You are able to evaluate the need for increased support and for a referral to further care.

You are able to maintain and promote a safe community and environment for schoolchildren and young people in cooperation with families and different interest groups.

What is public health nursing for schoolchildren, young people and their families and how is it implemented?
What is student health care?
How do you evaluate the growth and development of schoolchildren and young people?
What factors contribute to and burden the health of schoolchildren, young people and their families?
How do you identify risks related to health, lack of security and social development in schoolchildren, adolescents and students and how do you tackle these risks?
How do you promote and support the mental health and well-being of schoolchildren, adolescents and students?
How do you promote substance-free thinking and deal with substance abuse problems in school and student health care?
How do you promote the health, safety and effectiveness of learning communities and environments?
How do you counsel individuals and groups on health issues?
How do you promote the sexual health of schoolchildren, young people and students?
How do you provide exercise and nutrition counseling for schoolchildren and students?
How do you counsel schoolchildren and students on sleep issues?

Evaluation

Students can
b. look for information in the key information sources of the field.

g. justify their actions according to the ethical principles of the professional field.

Opiskelijan tulee olla läsnä ensimmäisellä lähiopetuskerralla jolloin annetaan tarkemmat ohjeet opintojakson suorittamisesta. Lähiopetusta järjestetään tukemaan Moodlessa olevia materiaaleja

Student workload

Opiskelijan työmäärä (5 x 27 tuntia) koostuu lähiopetuksesta, itsenäisestä aiheeseen tutustumisesta, pienryhmätyöskentelystä ja laboraatioharjoituksista.

Assessment methods and criteria

Yksilö- ja ryhmätehtävien palauttaminen määräajassa. Aktiivinen osallistuminen lähiopetukseen ja laboraatioharjoituksiin. Myöhässä palautuneiden tehtävien arvosana alenee yhdellä arvosanalla.
