Objective

Students recognize, understand and are able to apply the following:
- mechanisms of air pollution
- air pollution control technologies
- basics of air pollution control and air quality legislation, regulation and related economic factors
- physical and chemical functional principles of atmospheric emission measurement equipment
- theoretical principles of emission measurements
- use of measurement equipment in practice
- calculation of emissions and the production of emission measurement reports
- functional principles of analyzers and related emission measurement methods

Content

What are the theoretical principles and mechanisms related to air pollution and the control of emissions?
What are the key emission reduction technologies?
What are the main emission-related administrative, legislative and economic issues?
How do the emission measurement equipment and analyzers work?
How are emissions calculated and measurement reports produced?

Evaluation

Students can
a. use professional vocabulary and concepts extensively and proficiently in different situations.
b. justify their information sources in a versatile and critical way.
e. evaluate and develop models, methods, software and techniques.
