Objective

You are able to:
- explain significant renewable energy sources and their trends in Finland and globally.
- describe how renewable energy sources can be technically utilized.
- evaluate the profitability of different renewable energy sources.
- experiment and analyze hydrogen fuel cells.

Content

How do the renewable energy sources, hydropower, wood and waste energy, geothermal power, hydrogen technology and fuel cells, wind and solar power and hybrid systems function?
How are renewable energy sources utilized technically?
How is the profitability of renewable energy sources assessed?

Evaluation

Students can
a. use professional vocabulary and concepts extensively and proficiently in different situations.
b. justify their information sources in a versatile and critical way.
e. evaluate and develop models, methods, software and techniques.
