Objective

You know the areas of business management and how organisations are managed in practice. You know the differences of managing a start-up vs an established company and are familiar with the ways in which management affects the financial outcome of operations.

Content

What is the difference between management and leadership?
What is strategic management?
How is personnel management carried out?
How does company strategy and vision affect management?
What management choices can a start-up use?

Evaluation

Students can
a. use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations.
b. evaluate information sources critically.
e. choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices.
g. apply critically the ethical principles of the professional field in different situations.
