Objective
You enhance your abilities in chemical analytics.
You know the operation principles of equipment commonly used in environmental measurements.
You know how to interpret analysis results and how to write a consistent report.
Content
What are the chemical factors affecting the behaviour of chemicals in the environment.
What kind of methods are used to pretreat and analyse samples?
What kind of analyses and measurement are made to evaluate the state of the environment?
How is the analytical equipment calibrated?
What factors affect the analysis result?
How to assure the quality of analytical results?
Evaluation
Students can
a. use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations.
b. evaluate information sources critically.
e. choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices.
Course material
Learnissa jaettava materiaali ja muu aiheeseen liittyvä kirjallisuus
Study forms and methods
Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä; teoria- ja laboratoriotunnit lukujärjestyksen mukaan
Opintoja nopeuttava oppimisväylä: esim. työssä hankitun osaamisen tunnistaminen erikseen sovittavalla tavalla
RDI and work-related cooperation
Kemian kirjallisuustiedon soveltaminen käytäntöön
Timing of exams and assignments
Opintojakon lopussa verkkotentti
Student workload
Opiskelijan työmäärä 135 h sisältäen teoriaa (12 h) - ja laboratoriotöitä (16h) , tentin sekä opiskelijan itsenäisen työskentelyn.
Evaluation scale
1-5
Assessment methods and criteria
Arviointi perustuu henkilökohtaiseen tenttiin (50%) ja työryhmän yhdessä laboratoriotöistä kirjoitettamaan raporttiin (50%).
Qualifications
Attending the course requires knowledge of basic chemistry and laboratory work, for example, completing the courses of Basic engineering physics and chemistry and Organic chemistry and chemical safety.
