Practical training: Podiatry I (5 cr)

Objective

You have the basic skills of podiatry, can use instruments and equipment and know the requirements for podiatric clinics.
You are able to carry out basic podiatric examinations and clinical work.
You learn how to work safely, ergonomically and aseptically.
You understand the importance of communication, interaction and documentation as a part of the podiatry process.
You learn to understand podiatry as a part of the social and health care system by studying the work of a podiatrist in working life.

What are basic manual skills and what instruments are used in podiatry?

RDI and work-related cooperation

1,5 opintopisteen tutustumisharjoittelu. Tutustumisharjoittelun tavoitteena on:
- saada sosiaali- ja terveysalan palvelujärjestelmä sekä toimintaympäristöt tutuksi
- tutustua jalkojenhoitoalan ammattilaisen työhön ja toimintaympäristöön sekä moniammatilliseen toimintaan
- tutustua jalkojenhoitoalan ammattilaisen yhteistyökumppaneihin siinä toimintaympäristössä ( mm. diabeteshoitaja, reumahoitaja, diabeteshoitaja, toimintaterapeutti, fysioterapeutti, lääkärit, sairaanhoitajat jne.)

Tutustumisharjoittelupaikka voi olla esimerkiksi terveyskeskus ympäristö, jossa näitä moniammatillisia toimijoita on. Pyrkimyksenä on, että tutustumispaikka olisi sellainen, missä olisi myös jalkojenhoidon asiantuntija työssä. Jos näin ei ole, harjoittelun voi tehdä myös kahdessa eri ympäristössä, esimerkiksi tk ympäristössä ja yksityisellä jalkaterapeutin osuus.

Tässä harjoittelussa voit käydä tutustumassa jalkaterapeutin työn lisäksi tai vaihtoehtona kosmetologin, jalkojenhoidon at-tukinnon suorittaneen työhön tai jalkojenhoitajan työhön.
