Objective

• You can describe the pressures for change of the environment and analyse their effects for nursing management.
• You apply knowledge about the changes in the society in the planning of the operation.
• You identify the preconditions for a safe patient care and staff security and can analyse their significance from the perspective of the development needs in management.
• You can assess ethics of management.
• You can analyse the effectiveness of the operation.

Content

• How do the economies and control systems of the health care and social services direct the production of services?
• What laws oblige and direct the planning of the operation?
• How are the aims of the strategy implemented in nursing practice?
• What are the means to assessing and developing quality and productivity?
• What is the ethics of management?
• What effect does evidence based management and practice have on quality and productivity?
