Objective

You become familiar with the Finnish service system for child protection and legislation.
You identify different life situations of children and families and are able to assess the need for child protection.
You know the principles of child's best interest.
You identify the stages of the child protection process.
You become familiar with the ethical principles, work orientations and methods of working with children, young people and families.

What legislation applies to child protection?
What is the service system of child protection?
What can cause the need for child protection?
What do the principles of child's best interest involve?
What is the process of client work like in child protection work?
How is child protection carried out?
What are the values and principles directing child protection?

Evaluation

Students can

Study forms and methods

Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä:
Opintojakso pitää sisällään luentoja, oppimistehtäviä (yksilö- ja ryhmätehtäviä), verkkotentin.

Opintoja nopeuttava oppimisväylä:
Lastensuojelutyössä toimiville, sovi tarkemmin vastuuopettajan kanssa.

Student workload

135 h pitää sisällään tentin, tehtävät sekä niiden edellyttämän itsenäisen tiedonhankinnan sekä opettajien pitämät luennot.

Opiskelija osaa
a. käyttää johdonmukaisesti ammattikäsitteitä

d. toimia asiakkaiden kanssa lastensuojelun kontekstissa (lastensuojeluilmoitus, sijaishuolto)

g. perustella toimintaansa oman alan eettisten periaatteiden mukaisesti
