Objective
You know how to handle electrical appliances as part of electrical circuits and are able to calculate the necessary action values. You learn the theoretical basics of transformers. You know how to choose electric motors for various applications.
Content
How do converters work?
For what are adapters needed?
How do engines work?
What factors influence the choice of an engine?
How are motors protected?
Opiskelumateriaali
Course-specific lecture material, online materials published by device manufacturers, industry literature.
Yksilölliset oppimisväylät
Lectures as face-to-face teaching. The course also includes practice tasks.
TKI ja työelämäyhteistyö
The course may include one company visit to a company that manufactures/maintains electrical machines.
Tentit ja muut määräajat
Kurssiin sisältyy yksi erillinen tentti kurssin lopussa. Kurssin pystyy suorittamaan myös noin viidellä välikokeella.
Kansainvälinen yhteistyö
The course doesn't include international collaboration.
Opiskelijan työmäärä
1 credit corresponds to 25 hours of personal student workload. The work is divided into face-to-face teaching and independent practice tasks.
Toteutuksen osien kuvaus
DC machines, alternating current machines (synchronous and asynchronous machines), special machines, transformers
Further information
Theory lessons as face-to-face teaching. Exercise tasks are performed partly under guidance and partly independently.
Evaluation scale
1-5
Assessment methods and criteria
The evaluation takes place on the basis of test performances.
Qualifications
Attending the course requires completing the courses of DC circuits and AC and 3-phase circuits.
