You identify the most important domestic tree species macroscopically. You know the microscopic and chemical structure and the physical properties of wood. You are able to identify the defects in wood and you know their significance in the woodprocessing industry. You can analyse the connection between raw material and end products in the different stages of refining processes of the forest industry.

Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä:
Luento- ja laboratorio-opetusta. Oppimistehtäviä ryhmissä. Perehdytään puun rakenteeseen, puuaineen ominaisuuksiin ja puusta valmistettaviin tuotteisiin(puutuoteteollisuus, paperiteollisuus...).

Completion alternatives

Kurssi toteutetaan kokonaan verkko-oppimisympäristössä annetun aikataulun mukaan aikavälillä tammi-huhtikuu. Kurssi sisältää monipuolisia oppimistehtäviä, kuten pieniä verkkotenttejä, tiedonhakutehtäviä, esitelmiä ja esseitä puuraaka-aineeseen ja sen käyttöön liittyen.

Assessment methods and criteria

Arviointi perustuu tunneilla(luokassa ja puulaboratoriossa) suoritettuihin oppimistehtäviin ja kirjalliseen tenttiin. (tentti sisältää myös puulajitunnistuksen puutavarasta/palikoista)
