Logging technology (5 cr)

Objective

You can determine thetrafficability of a logging site. You can observe the quality of logging. You have a realistic view about the qualifications of forest workers and forest machine operators.

Content

How do you select the logging method? What are the effects of logging tosilviculture and environment? What are the consequences of a logging method to the processing of wood?

Study forms and methods

Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä:
Kurssilla tutustutaan puunkorjuuyrityksen johtamiseen ja talouteen, suunnittelun ja seurannan tietojärjestelmiin (esim. Datapankki ja WoodForce), hakkuukone- ja kuormatraktorisimulaattoriin sekä erikoisopuunhankintaa.

Arviointi perusteet: Osaat käyttää keskeisiä oman alan malleja, menetelmiä, ohjelmistoja ja tekniikoita. Osaat
toimia ryhmän jäsenenä tavoitteellisesti, sekä perustella toimintaansa oman alan eettisten periaatteiden mukaisesti
Arviointi menetelmät: kurssi arvioidaan tehtävien ja tentin perusteella.

Attending the course requires completing the course of Timber measurement, or equivalent basic knowledge.
