Objective

You understand and can use concepts, expressions and vocabulary needed when describing or discussing intelligent logistics.
You can write stylish text in English for a report or an essay.
You further develop the skills needed to discuss and present in English.

What concepts, expressions and vocabulary to do you need to understand texts depicting intelligent logistics?
How do you write better reports and essays in English?
How do you discuss and present compellingly and clearly in English ?

Course material

Material provided by the teacher in Learn environments and 0-12-818281-4 Dimitrakopoulos, G., Uden, L., Varlamis, I., 2020. The Future of Intelligent Transport Systems.

Study forms and methods

It is possible to complete the course as an independent package, which includes a longish presentation to be videorecorded and its self-assessment, report and its self-assessment, and an exam in Exam aquarium where the knowledge of vocabulary is demonstrated. It is obligatory to agree on the independent option with the teacher at the beginning of the course.

Timing of exams and assignments

9 contact classes, minimum requirement attending 6 classes.
Small presentation.
A piece of text for the functional specification (the same specification as in ITS intelligent logistics course).
Final essay in Learn Environment.

Student workload

5 cr= 135 hours of student work.
18 h contact classes, 115 hours of independent work.

Further information

To be implemented in collaboration with course ITS intelligent transport systems. It is recommended to study these two course simultaneously.

Assessment methods and criteria

The student must participate in at least six (6) classes.
Presentation and functional specification text with a pass grade.
Passed home essay in Learn environment.

Qualifications

Professional English or equivalent skills.It is recommendable to take this course if your grade in Professional English is 3 or better
