Objective

Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- ports and operations
- maritime supply chain parties and operations
- carriers responsibility
- chartering types and contracts
- masters role and responsibility
- taking care of the realization of the interests of the shipping company and the cargo owner during maritime transport

Content

- ports, operators and other stakeholders
- master's role in decision making concerning carriers liability in carriage of goods

Evaluation

Students can
- use professional vocabulary systematically
- evaluate information sources critically
- choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices
- apply critically the ethical principles of the professional field in different situations

In addition, competence evaluation according to STCW code table A-II/2 column 4 are used:
- cargo operations are planned and executed in accordance with established procedures and legislative requirements or other documents and established safety rules/regulations, equipment operating instructions and shipboard stowage limitations
