High voltage laboratory course (1 cr)

Objective

Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- systematically and safely performing HV technology couplings and measurements in a laboratory environment
- reporting and analysing measurements

Content

- electrical safety
- earthing
- operation, back-up and maintenance of the high voltage network

Evaluation

Students can
- use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations
- choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices
- work as team members in working life expert duties and identify and describe the problems of the professional field

In addition, competence evaluation according to STCW code table A-III/6 column 4 are used:
- safety measures for working are appropriate
- selection and use of hand tools, measuring instruments, and testing equipment are appropriate and interpretation of results is accurate
- operations are planned and carried out in accordance with operating manuals, established rules and procedures to ensure safety of operations
