Objective
Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- basic components and switchgear for electrical engineering
- analyze power transmission network power and short-circuit currents
- power transmission network protection technology
Content
- power distribution systems, power, voltage drops, short-circuit currents, shielding, surge protection, switches and switchgear, system documentation
(STCW A-III / 1 and A-III / 2)
Evaluation
Students can
- use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations
- choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices
- apply critically the ethical principles of the professional field in different situations
In addition, competence evaluation according to STCW code table A-III/2 column 4 are used:
- maintenance activities are correctly planned in accordance with technical, legislative, safety and procedural specifications
- inspection, testing and troubleshooting of equipment are appropriate
