- detect and identify the cause of machinery malfunctions and correct faults

- start up and shut down main propulsion and auxiliary machinery, including associated systems
- operating limits of propulsion plant
- the efficient operation, surveillance, performance assessment and maintaining safety of propulsion plant and auxiliary machinery
- functions and mechanism of automatic control for main engine
- functions and mechanism of automatic control for auxiliary machinery
- inspection and adjustment of equipment

Teaching methods

In the work week-based pathway, students participate in teaching and supervision according to the reading schedule.

Assessment methods and criteria

Exam and/or possible exercises that will affect are agreed in the introduction lecture.
You will attend teaching and guidance sessions as specified in the schedule. (100% participation)

- MRM
- Accomplishment of Marine engineering module at operational level is required prior to enrollment.
