You know the terminology used in wood procurement.
You are able to describe the techniques and systems most commonly applied in wood procurement.

Content

From what kinds of forests is wood harvested?
What kind of techniques are used in harvesting and transporting wood?
How is wood procurement organised?

Course material

To be told in lectures and in the Learn learning environment.

Study forms and methods

Work week-based learning pathway:
Date January-April. The course consists of classroom and field teaching, learning tasks and excursions. Approximately half of the student's workload is contact teaching and half is independent study.
First Aid (0.5 credits): you actively participate in contact teaching 100%.
A learning pathway that accelerates studies:
First aid: Not used.
Work-integrated learning path:
Contact OVA. First aid 1: not in use.

RDI and work-related cooperation

First and fundamental studycourse in woodprocurement, no RDI or business contacts.

Timing of exams and assignments

Retakes of the field test must be arranged separately with the teacher. It is possible to supplement and increase learning tasks.

Student workload

First aid: online teaching 8 hours + classroom teaching 8 hours.

Evaluation scale

1-5

Assessment methods and criteria

Learning assignments and field test.
First aid: exam + CPR competency testing (The student actively participates in class exercises and passes the tests.) First aid is evaluated on a fail/pass scale.
