You understand the significance of media and digital skills in the lives of children and youth in modern society.
You are familiar with the main concepts, premises and objectives of media education in supporting the growth and development of children and youth.
You know the main means and channels of media and the related challenges and opportunities in education and counselling work.
You are able to strengthen the media literacy of children and youth.
You are able to plan and implement media education in cooperation with parents and professionals of education.

Study forms and methods

Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä:
Opintojakso rytmittyy lähiopetustyöpajojen, verkkotapaamisten sekä itsenäisen työskentelyn vuorottelun mukaan. Opintojakson kesto on yksi lukukausi. Työpajoja ja lähitapaamisia on noin kerran kuukaudessa.

RDI and work-related cooperation

Työelämäyhteistyö toteutuu opintojakson aikana tehtävissä koulukuraattorien haastatteluissa.

Opiskelijan työmäärä on 135 tuntia

Further information

Ehdottomia vaatimuksia edeltäville opinnoille ei ole. Suositeltava edeltävä opintojakso on: Mediakasvatuksen perusteet (5 op).

Opintojakso sisältää neljä (4) koko ryhmän yhteistä lähitapaamista. Lisäksi jokaisen lähitapaamisen välillä kokoonnutaan yhden kerran verkkoon. Lähitapaamisten päivämäärät syyslukukaudella 2022 ovat:
- maanantai 11.9. klo 12.45–16.00
- maanantai 2.10. klo 12.45–16.00
- maanantai 6.11. klo 12.45-16.00
- maanantai 27.11. klo 12.45-16.00

Opintojakson onnistunut suorittaminen edellyttää, että opiskelijalla on Googlen Gmail-tunnukset tai että hän on valmis luomaan ne.

Assessment methods and criteria

Hyväksytyn opintojakson kokonaisarviointi tapahtuu asteikolla 1-5. Opintojakson osasuorituksissa voidaan käyttää myös arviointiasteikkoa hyväksytty, täydennettävä, hylätty.
