Course material
The course primarily utilizes materials available from open sources.
Study forms and methods
The course is conducted entirely as in-person teaching on the Kotka campus according to the timetable. Remote participation is not possible. In-person teaching sessions are generally not recorded, nor are they replaced with remote lectures when in-person teaching is provided as scheduled. Part of the instruction takes place in a laboratory environment.
The study rhythm is structured around group meetings scheduled in the timetable and independent learning assignments. The course consists of 14 lecture sessions, including individual tasks completed during the class. Additionally, several independent projects are assigned as part of the course.
The course is divided into two separately assessed components: Microsoft Environments (2.5 ECTS) and Linux (2.5 ECTS).

Several learning assignments are completed during the course. The assignments must be submitted by the specified deadlines.
Student workload
In a 5-credit course, the students total maximum workload is approximately 135 hours including lessons and independent study.
