Practical training: Podiatry V (10 cr)

Objective

You know the potential of technology in podiatry.
You know how to use and apply technology in podiatry.
You are able to design and fabricate orthoses for client needs, by using different basic insole techniques and technology.
You are able to guide younger students and other professional groups to identify the lower extremity problems and to counsel them preventing and treating these problems.

What kind of technology can be utilized in podiatry?
What are the factors relevant to the health care sector when making use of technology?
How do you carry out podiatry processes that make use of technology?
How do you design and manufacture orthoses to client needs by using different manufacturing techniques?
How do you utilize product development and innovation in podiatry?
How do you assess and develop podiatry processes?
What factors should you take into consideration when guiding younger students and representatives of other occupational groups?

Evaluation

Students can
- use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations.
- evaluate information sources critically.
- work as team members in working life expert duties and identify and describe the problems of the professional field.
- evaluate operations in client, user and target group situations.
- choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices.
- promote teams’ goal-oriented operation.

Opintojakson alussa sovittava kirjallisuus sekä opettajan osoittama sähköinen materiaali.

Study forms and methods

Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä:
Osallistut työjärjestyksen mukaiseen opetukseen ja ohjaukseen. Opiskelusi rytmittyvät työjärjestyksen mukaisten ryhmätapaamisten ja itsenäisesti tehtävien oppimistehtävien mukaan.

Opintoja nopeuttava oppimisväylä:
Suoritat opintojakson jonkun muun ryhmän mukana edeltävyysehdot huomioiden.

Työhön integroitu oppimisväylä:
Jos työskentelet terveysalan yrityksessä, organisaatiossa tai korkeakoulun tarjoamassa projektissa, voit suorittaa opintojakson työpaikallasi/projektissa joko kokonaan tai osittain. Tällöin olet yhteydessä opintojakson alussa opintojakson opettajaan ja sovit työpaikallesi/projektille tehtävästä kehittämistehtävästä. Oppiminen edellyttää, että työssäsi perehdyt opintojaksolla käsiteltäviin teemoihin ja hallitset ne sekä teoriassa että käytännössä. Osoitat osaamisesi osaamisen näyttönä, jonka laajuus määräytyy opintojakson oppimistavoitteiden mukaan.

Timing of exams and assignments

Tehtävien palautusten ym. suoritusten määräajat sovitaan opintojakson orientaatiossa.

Student workload

Opintojakson laajuus on 10op eli 270h opiskelijan työtä.

Alustavan suunnitelman mukaan opintojakson lähiopetuksesta 2 päivää (21.11 ja 22.11.2024) toteutuu Saimaa stadiumilla Mikkelissä.

Assessment methods and criteria

Opintojakson hyväksytty suorittaminen edellyttää aktiivista osallistumista lähiopetustunneilla sekä opintojaksoon kuuluvien oppimistehtävien suorittamista hyväksytysti. Arviointikriteerit esitetään opintojakson Learn-alustalla.

Oppimistehtävät arvioidaan hyväksytty - hylätty / täydennettävä.
