What is public health nursing for schoolchildren, young people and their families and how is it implemented?
What is student health care?
How do you assess the growth and development of schoolchildren and young people?
How do you identify risks related to health, lack of security and social development in schoolchildren, adolescents and students and how do you tackle these risks?
How do you promote and support the mental health and wellbeing of schoolchildren, adolescents and students?
How do you promote substance-free thinking and deal with substance abuse problems in school and student health care?
How do you promote the health, safety and effectiveness of learning communities and environments?

The course is carried out as contact teaching on campus and as independent working online. Students must be present in classroom classes. The first contact teaching session provides more detailed instructions for completing the course.

Opintojakso muodostuu tavoitteiden mukaisista teemoista, joihin sisältyy ryhmätöitä ja itsenäistä työskentelyä. Tehtäviin on osoitettu materiaalia learn-alustalla ja materiaalia on aiheiden mukaisesti etsittävä itse.

Assessment methods and criteria
The course is assessed numerically (1-5) and some of the assignments included in it are assessed numerically (1-5) and some on a scale approved - rejected.
The assessment of the course is based on group work during the course, individual learning task, active hourly work and preclinical exercises. The grade of tasks returned late is reduced by one grade.
